Rama IV; Bangkok’s Future of Mixed-Use Landmarks 

Bangkok is still a developing city with a huge emphasis on growing infrastructure, trillions of Baht in both foreign & domestic investment; hospitals, train lines & through the rise of new mixed-use projects in central city locations. Rama IV is an example of one of the biggest multiple mixed-use developments coming to Bangkok, paving the way for this location to become a central city hub & investment hotspot.

Rama IV is the road that runs parallel below Sukhumvit has four mixed-use super-projects coming along with a wealth of new opportunities. Rama IV has a Rich History Dating back to the 1850s:

The Rama IV Road was constructed in 1857 by the initiative of His Majesty King Mongkut (Rama IV) after the Consul General of the United Kingdom, France, and the United States along with large foreign traders signed a petition asking the Government of Siam to dig a canal from Phra Khanong Canal to Krung Kasem Canal to shorten the travel distance for merchant ships. The earthwork from canal digging was used to fill the road just north of the canal. This road was originally called “Straight Road” given that it was the longest straight road in Bangkok at that time. Later in 1919, His Majesty King Vajiravudh (Rama VI) renamed it “Rama IV Road”.

Samyam Midtown

The first of these to be completed is the Samyam Midtown, Close to Chulalongkorn University to suit the lifestyle of the new generation. Divided into 3 parts:

  • OFFICE 31-story grade A office building with a total leasing area of ​​48,000 square meters or 30% of the project.

The PARQ

Located on the corner of Rama IV and Ratchadaphisek Rd this project part of the revitalization of the Khlong Toei district, building upon the neighboring office Grade A office ‘FYI center’, this new mixed-use space is connected to the Queen Sirikit MRT station and next to the newly revitalized Queen Sirikit Convention center as part of the Benjakitti Forest Park expansion.

Dusit Central Park

Dusit Central Park is a joint-venture project that sees one of Thailand’s most popular hotel brands, Dusit Thani, team up with the country’s largest retail player, CPN. The project comprises 3 buildings and is anchored by a 69-story luxury condominium that will have 389 units dubbed Dusit Residences. There will also be a 45-story office tower & retails space called Central Park Offices.
