What are the Shopping Facilities?
Near BTS On Nut on Sukhumvit Road is a Lotus Supermarket and shopping mall and a relatively new Century Movie Plaza and Tops Supermarket, with a full range of groceries, fresh produce, clothes, electronics, and really whatever you need.
Another reasonably new lifestyle mall is People Park on On Nut Road. It has everything from international cuisine, eateries and brands, health and beauty stores, food and snack places, and a Gourmet Market supermarket. And it is pet friendly. A Big C Extra is also in the area beside KnightsBridge Prime On Nut, an excellent condominium complex.
On Nut also has loads of family-run shops, food carts and markets lining many of the sois in the area.
What About Restaurants and Entertainment?
You are spoilt for choice with restaurants and cafes with a surfeit of Thai and western offerings. Meat lovers rejoice at the Best Beef Sukhumvit (On Nut) with its a la carte and buffet offerings promoting Thai beef and imported products.
Better Moon Cafe x Refill Station, an eco-friendly cafe and guesthouse, offers healthy food, zero-waste shopping, seasonal fruit and veg and cosy vibes. Some great coffee shops like DNA Coffee and the Magic Star Bakery with tasty snacks and delicious hot and cold drinks. These are the tip of the iceberg. There are lots to explore.
Asoke and Nana have top-notch entertainment venues if you want to dance and drink the night away. In On Nut, it is more low-key, with some cool bars and speakeasies, perfect for enjoying with friends.
How about Healthcare, Education, and Recreational Facilities?
Nearby are Wells International School, Bangkok Prep Secondary Campus and St Andrews International School, plus Thai schools and many other international schools throughout Bangkok. Bangkok University is handy too.
Kluaynamthai and Sukhumvit Hospitals are within 5 km. Dental, optical, and medical clinics are throughout the district with good service at affordable prices.
Tucked away is a surprisingly beautiful community green space, Sansiri Backyard T77 Community Sansiri. This 50-acre piece of land has meandering walkways, farms of bananas, pandan, veggies, and fruit, as well as ducks, geese and farm animals. An absolute gem within a great collection of Sansiri residential projects.
The kid-friendly Safari Garden Playground and Park is a little further on from Sukhumvit 77 / On Nut Road. This large park has loads of activities for kids and adults, like animal petting, bike riding, swimming, grazing in the cafe, and just lolling about.
Is On Nut Expensive?
Although just a few stops from the middle Sukhumvit districts of trendy Ekkamai and Thong Lo, On Nut offers a surprisingly affordable cost of living. In recent years, several high-rise condominiums have sprung up, and prices are competitive with many rental properties on the market.
On Nut is a more authentic and quiet neighbourhood. Food is inexpensive, especially street food and local markets. Local transport and the BTS mean getting around is easy and affordable.
Are Condos Difficult to Find?
On Nut has a great choice of housing from low-rise, townhouses and very conveniently located high-rise condominium projects. You will find condos to buy and rent significantly less expensive compared to the middle and lower Sukhumvit areas closer to central Bangkok.
