New high-speed train project coming to Hua Hin
Recently, according to the State Railway of Thailand (SRT), there is an announcement that Hua Hin is a destination for the latest new high-speed train project from North, Northeast, East to South.
The northern route will start from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, while the Northeastern line will start from Bangkok to Nong Khai. On the other hand, the Eastern line will connect Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang, and U-Tapao Airports and will stretch from Bangkok to Rayong. Finally, the Southern line will be divided into two phases: Phase 1 will run from Bangkok to Hua Hin, connecting five different stations, which are Bang Sue, Nakhon Pathom, Ratchaburi, Phetchaburi, to Hua Hin. Phase 1 is aimed to be completed by 2032. Phase 2 will run from Hua Hin to Padang Besar, Malaysia, connecting eight different stations: Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Hat Yai and Padang Besar, Malaysia. For Phase 2, it is expected to be completed by 2037.
47.3-kilometre bypass project from Central to South to be completed by 2025
According to the Department of Highways (DoH), there is a recent plan to upgrade the Cha-am Road or Highway No.37 bypass with a budget of 7 billion baht. The bypass will cover Cha-am district, Phetchaburi, Hua Hin and Pran Buri districts in Prachuap Khiri Khan.
DoH director general Sarawut Songsivilai unveiled that the project will facilitate inter-provincial travel from the Central region to the South, aiming to increase road safety, reduce congestion along Highway No.37, and boost the economy.
This bypass route will go through Huay Ta Paet, the Chang Thaeng Krachat intersection, Silpakorn University, the Huay Mongkol intersection and Hua Hin’s district office. It will eventually connect to Phetkasem Road at the Wangyao interchange. The bypass is due to be completed by 2025.
Hua Hin shopping mall’s second branch to be launched in 2023
The second branch of Hua Hin Shopping Mall will be opened in Hua Hin next year. Conveniently located opposite the Hua Hin School, the new mall will comprise various products similar to the first branch. The construction period is expected to be between six to eight months and due to be completed by Q3 of 2023. The key focus for this second branch is still to offer quality products, but in affordable products.
